Interview with my Flickr friend Juan Miguel



1.How did you first get interested in photography? And are you self taught?

I have always liked to make photos, although from the arrival of the digital photography, that liking is more.Soy a self-taught person and I would like to attend some course of photographic formation.

2.Do you have a favourite walk around lens? If so, what is it?

My favourite walk around is Tamron 17-50 f/2.8.The quality osf this lens is impressive.


3. What equipment and software do you use?


My equipment is a Konica Minolta Dynax 7D and Sony Alpha 700.

I use The Gimp and Photoshop Elements 5.For RAW archives, RawShooter essentials and
Image data Converter

4 Which one item of equipment is the most important for you?

Lenses.I think that this piece is most important that the camera.

5.How do you decide on locations and subjects?

I travel a lot by labor reasons and always make photos of architecture and landscapes.

6.What are your favorite subjects to photograph?

Landscapes, architecture and night pictures.

7.What continues to inspire you as a photographic artist?

I love the light in the morning or before sunset.I think that is very important.

8.What is the one thing that you have not captured on camera you feel you need to express?

I would like to be able to make more portraits.


9.What other artists have influenced your work?


I love the work of two photographers of my city, Valencia. Francisca Rivera and Boricles.
In flickr , I love the work of Alonsodr.

10.What other talents do you possess besides photography? And is there another area of talent you would like to explore?

I´m a musician since I was 12 years old.I enjoy and work in this area and I´m very happy.

11. Have you met other flick rites in person, and how was the experience?

I meet to my nephew, Rayos-X ;-) and five flickers of my city, Valencia.
They are Ximo_2 ; Falken_Photo , Galahad, Joose and Magomar.


Any words of advice for those who would like to dig deeper into photography?


Shot in Manual mode, and see pictures of great photographers.

13.Of all the photos you've taken, what is your favorite and why?


Each photo has something special for me.No would know which to say you.

14. If you could change anything on flickr, what would it be?

I don't like Explore. I do not understand how the photos are chosen that appear there and why they disappear last a time .

Another wonderful interview with a very talented photographer, Angie. I will check out the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8, that's a great piece of advice that I learned from this interview.

I have just met and shot some photos with Juan .He is very passionate about his photography ,and was a real joy to be with! Thanks for the interview . I never realized he was the uncle of Rayos
